David Chavez - Entrepreneur, CPA, CVA

David Chavez is one of the most active business leaders in Southern Nevada. For almost two decades, he has been a major contributor to the development of the business community.

David began his professional career at the international accounting firm, Arthur Anderson. During his tenure, he began developing his strategic development skills while working on a strategic plan for a multi-billion dollar international company. He also worked with the firm's tax and audit practices.

In 1996, David founded a CPA firm receiving the 2002 'Nevada Business Journal Readers' Choice Nevada Accounting Firm of the Year. It was his vision and implementation of providing clients with personalized service that defined his firm as one of the most respected CPA firms in Nevada. David led the firm's expansion into the San Diego market in 2004. The CPA firm serviced over 800 clients in a wide range of industries prior to David selling the company in 2007.

Most recently David founded Assured Strategies, a strategic development coaching, consulting and advisory firm. David currently serves as the CEO and primarily provides strategy coaching too small to mid-sized companies, as well as consulting and advisory services in his areas of expertise.

David was recognized as the Small Business Administration's Small Business Person of the Year 2002 for the City of Henderson. The 'In Business Las Vegas' selection committee chose him as one of Southern Nevada's Most Influential Leaders in 2006. Additionally, David has been featured as one of the Top 40 Under 40 in the 'Las Vegas Business Press', 'In Business Las Vegas' and the 'Nevada Business Journal' publications. Furthermore, he has served as President, Chairman, and on the Board of Directors for numerous businesses and local community organizations including: Henderson Chamber of Commerce, Las Vegas Chapter of the Nevada Society of Certified Public Accountants, Entrepreneurs Organization, Henderson Community Foundation, and Nevada Partnership for The Homeless Youth to name a few.

Kathy Holdaway


Kathy Holdaway has been working to help others be successful all of her career. In her role as a World Class Coach and Consultant to business professionals, Kathy helps sales leaders, business executives and their teams achieve the vision, goals, and mission of the business and excel as leaders in their field.

Kathy has coached over 150 businesses in general business practices from gap analysis to leader development in seven countries and throughout the United States. Industries have varied to include specialty medical practices, dental practices, landscape, hyperbaric medicine, plumbing, alternative medicine, cross dock warehousing, as well as the clients that serve these industries. She has a BA in Behavioral Science and is a Graduate of Corporate Coach University. She is an award winning former Sales Executive for a Division of Merck & Co., Inc., Bristol-Myers Squibb and STERIS. She was on the transition team through three mergers and acquisitions with Merck, BMS, and STERIS.

She is passionate about facilitating the processes that increase leadership skills, grow sales, make change easy, solve business challenges and increase communication abilities. Her unique abilities to uncover the hidden genius and talents already in the leaders she works with enables them to create an environment where change is welcome and communication with his/her team and their staff or sales team is enhanced. Reduced stress, leader strengths, more fun, growing sales, a well working team and growing profits result.

Always on a learning path, Kathy focuses on emerging trends in learning, human growth and development, and personal transformation thus enhancing her coaching and consulting capabilities.

As a major contributor to the Assured Strategies team Kathy's primary responsibility is to assist clients with leadership training and development, sales management training & development and sales training and development.

Ric Jimenez, PMP 


Ric is a dynamic and energetic individual with experience working on strategy, business development, and project management in the construction, entertainment, financial, and service sectors. As a former entrepreneur, his previous experience includes owning and operating several businesses in the construction and service industries. He has also served as a consultant for a variety of businesses over the last decade.

Prior to joining the firm, Ric worked as a project manager at Quality Mechanical Contractors, where he led several construction projects in the Hotel/Casino, Entertainment, and Trade Show industries.

Ric and David have worked together in the past; he served as the COO at David's CPA firm. When learning of Assured Strategies, Ric was ready to scratch the entrepreneurial itch again and contribute his talents with writing business plans, developing strategy as well as coaching, consulting and advising companies in the area of project management. When businesses have issues with processes they call Ric. He has the ability to learn a system or process, make suggested process improvement recommendations and implement the changes while understanding employees' natural resistance to change.
